All skiers must wear a hard sided helmet during practices and races. Additional equipment is required for those racers wishing to practice/compete at a provincial level: shin guards, helmet with chin bar, mouth guard, speed suits and race poles.

In order to keep our registration fees reasonable, parents of racers are required to contribute volunteer time at a minimum of 2 fundraising events per season. New for this year is a $100.00 (2@$50..00 cheque)  Refundable volunteer deposit (per family) that is due at the time of registration. At the end of the season deposit will be refunded if your volunteer time has been met.

In addition, parent participation (planning or officiating) at the ski race hosted by the Salmo Ski Team is mandatory and does not count towards volunteer commitment.

Family Fun Night: Family Fun Night has become a tradition at the Salmo Ski Hill. Dozens of door prizes, a $500 elimination draw, 50/50 draw, glow sticks, and a torchlight parade of the ski racers are all part of the fun. Parents help raise up to $1500 by collecting door prizes, selling tickets at the door, or helping with the torchlight parade.

This is a new fundraiser where the kids will get sponsors to support their quest to get the most runs in 1 hour. Top money raised and most runs made will get a prize for their hard work. Getting them involved in the fundraising helps them understand all the hard work us parents put in, and give them a sense of pride in raising money for their team. It was a lot of fun last year!!

We do 2 bottle drive one in the spring and the other in the fall.
